Trust in federal government

Trust in federal government: in Gallup's most recent reading (field end Sept. 16, 2025), 13% say they trust the federal government a "great deal" and 25% a "fair amount," for 38% combined, while 32% say "not very much" and 28% "none at all" ^[1]. A year earlier (Sept. 15, 2024), the "great deal" figure was 8% and "fair amount" 29%, a 37% combined total; the "great deal" share is up 5 points since then ^[1]. The only poll dated within the past 30 days is this same September 2025 survey, so no shorter-term change is available.
