Police — public trust: Gallup's most recent reading (field end June 30, 2025) finds 20% of Americans express "a great deal" of confidence in the police and 25% "quite a lot," with 33% saying "some," 20% "very little," and 1% unsure ^[1]. The combined great-deal-plus-quite-a-lot figure of 45% is down from 51% in the prior Gallup reading (field end June 30, 2024), when 25% said "great deal" and 26% "quite a lot" ^[1]. Over the same span, "very little" rose from 16% to 20%, while "some" shifted from 32% to 33% ^[1].
